Structural Engineer

Qualifications & experience

  • Must be familiar with residential timber design in New Zealand

  • Understand NZ standards such as NZS3604, NZS3603, NZS1170, NZS3101 and NZS3404

  • Strong communication skills and team management skills

  • Bachelor of Engineering from New Zealand Universities (BE, BE tech or similar)

  • Ability to work under pressure and good time management

  • Min. 3 years LOCAL structural engineering experience

The Opportunities

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our growing Structural Engineering Team. This role also has the potential to become a shareholder and associate in the company's future.

You will become a key member of an outstanding Structural Engineering group, responsible for low to medium density residential design, seismic assessment and strengthening, MOE structure alteration and assessment, light commercial, and low-rise apartment design. Additionally, staff members have the chance to work remotely from our Queenstown office and enjoy the stunning lake/mountain views. Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Managing and conducting structural design of residential jobs

  • Markup drawings or CAD drafting and liaise with the team for various projects

  • Liaison with Architect designers, clients and contractors

  • Planning and documentation of full package for projects

  • Site inspections and meeting

  • Ability to deliver projects within limited time and budget
